Lions at the World Stage - Namibia

Our Namibian Lions are selected for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Ruben Trumplemann and JJ Smit are selected in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup starting from 7th February, with venues in India and Sri Lanka.

This World Cup is not their first outing, as both have already showcased their skills on this global stage. Trumplemann and JJ’s first world cup appearance was in T20 World Cup 2021 as a left-arm pacer and an all-rounder respectively. JJ’s best performance came against Scotland, making 32 runs off 23 balls, guiding Namibia to a four-wicket victory. In the same match Ruben Trumplemann took 3 early wickets, stopping Scotland at a low total. This match was Namibia’s first-ever victory in the Super 12 stage of a T20 World Cup.

This World Cup will be JJ’s fourth consecutive T20 World Cup including the 2021, 2022 and 2024 and third for Trumplemann after the 2021 and 2024.

     10th February vs Netherlands

     12th February vs India

     15th February vs United States

     10th February vs Pakistan
